Family in town!

Nathan is receiving his baby blessing this Sunday March 11th. as well as his little cousin Joseph. My sister Grace and my mother and father in law are flying from salt lake to be part of this especial event. Lately with all the time I have at home with my new little guy, I've been pondering about  my role as wife and mother and it is not easy task, I need to rejoice in this blessing I have.

Un recordatorio/A reminder

Lo logre!/I made it!

Well well well, I Just finished reading "Daughters in My Kingdom. The History and Work of Relief Society." I realized I am of great value to my Father in Heaven and that the sole purpose of the gospel is to provide happiness to every soul through selfless service of all kind.
My favorite chapter has been so far chapter 9 "Guardians of the Hearth. Establishing, Nurturing, and Defending the Family." Perhaps because I'm embarking myself in this noble cause of motherhood and I cannot stop thinking in my mother's great example and my father's support.

Establishing, Nurturing, and Defending the Family."

My favorite quote:
Mi cita favorita:
“You pass the heritage along
as you help others receive the gift of charity in
their hearts. They will then be able to pass it to
others. The history of Relief Society is recorded
in words and numbers, but the heritage is
passed heart to heart.”

Conferencia General./General Conference.

General conference is an especial time in the year for me, it feel as it were Christmas. There is no doubt in my heart and mind that there is Loving God and a Great Redeemer who loves me and loves everyone in this world. This is a great time to be alive with prophets, seers, and revelators that lead and guide the way to Exaltation. There were more than one message that felt tailored just for me and my circumstances I'm looking forward to study and learn more from this conference.

"Me encanta ver el Templo" I made covenants there and now I have a renewed vision of its importance now and for the eternities. Makes me happy and cheerful to hear of new temple dedications, construction and new temple announcements.
I want to be a good mother in Zion, and I want to share my testimony that there is hope, happiness for my children in this decaying world if I live and teach them the Gospel of Christ which brings true happiness and purpose to this mortal existence. I have great examples around me, my parents and leaders. I know I'm not alone Max is with me and I've received the gift of the Holy Ghost that will guide me if I live worthy of his companionship.

I made the personal goal of reading everyday one chapter from the book Daughters in My Kingdom the history and work of Relief Society. I will finish reading it soon. In my last night reading the following quote touched my heart and my mind tremendously and helped me understand better my Divine Nature and Self Worth.

Cita:
Quote:
If any of the daughters and mothers in Israel are feeling in the least [limited] in their present spheres, they will now find ample scope for every power and capability for doing good with which they are most liberally endowed. … President Young has turned the key to a wide and extensive sphere of action and usefulness.

general conference

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

General conference is one of my favorite times of the year. This year we celebrate 75ht anniversary of the Church's Welfare Program. After hearing the messages from our leaders there is no doubt that God knows our needs and there is no doubt that He knows that is through service that we learn and do His work.

spring brake is near...

For today's blog entry I've been thinking in writing about Max's renewed determination to excercise every day and his plans for the upcoming spring brake. The itineray so far is to camp and climb Deseret Peak and he has already got his boots, crampons and axe for such enterprise.
I have no doubt that the show about the Mount Everst we have been watching has inspired him. As far as I am concern I've been thinking in the food; I haven't come up with any idea besides a big ration of sandwiches and water.
We'll see how it goes!

Family Home Evening

Before we got married we received many words of counsel from the first counselor from the stake and my bishop of course. One of the advices that sticked in our minds was praying together and having Family Home Evening..
What I remember the most from the Family Home Evenings at my parents' home is the little minute book we had to prepare the lessons. I consider it now a family keepsake full of significant memories.
It was in Family Home Evening that my siblings and I learned about the new little member that was going to become part of our family; Mom and dad told us about it sometime on the spring of 1997 and Rodrigo was born on December 4, that same year. It was funny to see our little brother growing and being part of the Family Home Evening, he became the official greeter and welcoming person. He was so cute!
Before my Brother Paco went on his mission he gave the most spiritual lessons those were beautiful days!
My sister and I even danced once before everyone just for fun!
Family Home Evening was not always bubbling and pink,in couple occasions it was to discipline and warning everyone from the influences of the world!
Now, in our nucleus Max and I have given priority to this blessing of Family Home Evening. We are still working on making it more homey; with that being said I believe that some sweet goodies, music, and a significant lessons will augment homey-ness!
Family Home Evening is a wonderful opportunity to create family traditions and a tradition indeed.
