6 semanas quedan!/ 6 weeks left!

Finally my project is looking good. I decided to make a baby quilt and I chose green fabrics because when I started I did not know if we were expecting a girl or a boy so I chose green which works for both just by making a different election of color in the binding.

quedan 7 semanas!/7 weeks left!
Max was in Providence, Rhode Island last week, working. Oh how I messed him! and ah, how happy I am he’s backed!
When Max has something very important to tell he usually writes me a letter and last week he sent me one which I‘ve printed it already and put in my journal. I just want to say that both of us want to create a happy family!
Everything went great in the last doctor visit, I’ve gained 18lb and I had not noticed it until I walk a small hill in the park the other day and I had to slow down my pace to be able to keep walking without getting tired.
Among other things, Max is doing his master on-line and home works sometimes is boring to him. The baby quilt is still in process, hopefully I will finish it this wee.

Noviembre ha llegado!/November has arrived!
Noviembre esta aqui! Si!
November is here! Yay! Thanksgiving day is closer and Mexico is celebrating the all Saint's day with delicious food, witty rhymes, and remembering our love ones. As LDS we did not participate of this tradition at home like other people, however it is one of the best times of the year to gather together with grandparents and learn about our ancestor;s enjoying a cup of hot chocolate and delicious tamales.
I remeber Grandma Martha setting up and small altar in her home with pictures and familiy keepsakes. The picture I remember best is my cousin's Tonito who died when he was a young boy for a tumor in his brain. I also remember the transparencies from my baby days and he apperars carrying me in many of them. It is a traeasure to me to know that the Plan of Salvation will allow my family to be together forever!
PS: 8 weeks left to receive our baby!

Lectura/Reading
Si!
This last couple months I have enjoyed free-time to do things I like as far as the pregnancy has let me do. One of the activities I've been able to focus on is reading. I feels great to be able to read the scriptures daily and see the unfolding of events and how the principles apply in those settings. I started to read Harry Potter as well, I find it very entertaining and interesting, no wonder why many people like it. Among my favorite things to learn is sewing, hopefully I will finish for the most part the baby quilt this week. We, baby and I, have just 9 more months to go! yay!

Fotos familiares/Family pictures
Max and I went to downtown Grapevine, TX. at the end of September to take some family pictures.
It was funny to see people's facial expressions towards our automated picture session (we used a remote to take the pictures ourselves.)
I used http://pixlr.com/o-matic/ to edit the picture! cool, isn't?!

Un recordatorio/A reminder
Lo logre!/I made it!
Well well well, I Just finished reading "Daughters in My Kingdom. The History and Work of Relief Society." I realized I am of great value to my Father in Heaven and that the sole purpose of the gospel is to provide happiness to every soul through selfless service of all kind.
My favorite chapter has been so far chapter 9 "Guardians of the Hearth. Establishing, Nurturing, and Defending the Family." Perhaps because I'm embarking myself in this noble cause of motherhood and I cannot stop thinking in my mother's great example and my father's support.
Establishing, Nurturing, and Defending the Family."

Conferencia General./General Conference.
"Me encanta ver el Templo" I made covenants there and now I have a renewed vision of its importance now and for the eternities. Makes me happy and cheerful to hear of new temple dedications, construction and new temple announcements.
I want to be a good mother in Zion, and I want to share my testimony that there is hope, happiness for my children in this decaying world if I live and teach them the Gospel of Christ which brings true happiness and purpose to this mortal existence. I have great examples around me, my parents and leaders. I know I'm not alone Max is with me and I've received the gift of the Holy Ghost that will guide me if I live worthy of his companionship.

Cita:
Quote:
If any of the daughters and mothers in Israel are feeling in the least [limited] in their present spheres, they will now find ample scope for every power and capability for doing good with which they are most liberally endowed. … President Young has turned the key to a wide and extensive sphere of action and usefulness.

Contando semanas./Counting weeks.
We are having a Baby -Boy!
We are having a Baby -Boy!
Max and I (and I have to say family and friends as well) are very excited for our new family member! We found out on August 22. I have already updated the look of my blog (I call it 'a very baby-boy Christmas') to match the mood and excitement for the arrival of our baby on (if we are lucky) December 27 this year!
I have to say that pregnancy is a challenge; for me the beginning was a little hard, the second trimester was great and I cannot wait for the end of the third trimester and see this little one! On this week I noticed that he is really active during the day and also at night, I want to believe it is a very good sign, and I will want to believe that especially in the middle of the night when he will be here.

August's gone and I'm in the middle of September already!
Time just keeps running and non-stopping, that is how it is!
On August:
I was born on a beautiful Monday morning on August 3rd, 1981. Yeah, I am a fine 30 years old lady now.
Max and I got married on a beautiful summer Tuesday noon the same day a year ago. Yeah, I was a nice 29 years old young woman back then. To celebrate my birthday we went out to shop for some maternity clothes, Max has good taste on women clothes, let me tell you! and we had cake.
Our original wedding cake-topper came all the way from Tooele [thanks so much sister Lou (grandma vonNiederhausern)], but the heat ruined..it... sad isn't it! so we improvised and bough a small cake to celebrate.
We waited til the weekend to celebrate our anniversary by going to the movies, we watched the "the rise of the planet of the apes" a good movie and afterwards we ate some Italian food... to be honest we need to visit and learn about new places to eat.

Eventful days Part 3!
Well I want to continue with these roller-coaster of emotions and events called "LIFE."I found I was pregnant (how exciting!) on Tuesday April the 19. I told Max, of course he is has to be involved) and then I told my mom and sister! The Sunday before my parents' flight back home, Max's mom invited all the "Familia Peralta Servin" to have dinner, and there it was that we announced the surprise. My DAD wasn't sure that what he understood was right! Poor dad he seemed confused but happy! It was great, everyone was happy and excited for us! Later I learned my two sisters in law (Loan and Kimberly) were expecting babies as well. After Dad, Mom and Rodrick (he is spelling his name that way lately) left I found myself with a cold and long days of packing and giving some stuff away to friends, my brother and sister. It was unbelievable to me how much stuff we had although it felt and looked like nothing!Max finished school, so on may 5th we packed "hasta el tope" our car and started our 3 day trip to Texas.

Eventful days! part 2
Max and I planned a picnic in the desert we had hot-dogs and mountain-man-breakfast. Everyone were impressed with Max's camping skills.
After having our picnic we venture to drive on the pony-express trail. We stopped on the first (maybe only rest area in the road) I think we were all tired but mostly dehydrated! It was fun!
Later, on the weekend we had our family pictures taken. My dear sister got a super deal for a family photo session on-line.
After the pictures we had to wait for my Brother to get off work and have dinner; in the meantime the rest of us went to Little Cotton Wood Canyon. Rodrigo wanted to check out the snow that was left and with some luck see some mountain goats. And we did see them!
Our first snowman ever! How exciting!

A new chapter in our lives!
My last day of classes is Wednesday April 13th, and I'm so happy; Max's last day is May 4th. It is interesting, we are in our late twenties and we have spent most of this decade of our lives in school. In perspective, it has been the best thing we could have done.
In a personal level, being in school has been a character building experience; who would have known how enticing cheat on assignments is, or how easy is to procrastinate and how hard it is to catch up.
Well, those lessons have been learned and being married and wanting a family in the very near future our lives we have to adjust the course and for sure all those lessons learned in college have to prove. However I do not think that relying only on our experiences will guaranteed our complete happiness.
I dear fondly what "The Family a Proclamation to the World" declares:

caching up!
We are going to Dallas, Texas; yeeha! We are so very excited for our new adventure! Max's brothers are already fighting for us to stay with them on the firsts weeks of May. That makes Max feel important at all levels!
This month of April has turned very busy already which I do not mind at all. My beautiful "hermanita" is graduating in Entrepreneurship (a major that suits her spirit and personality to perfection.) My parents and little brother (Rodrigo) are coming to town in less than a week, and I cannot wait to see them. Last time they were here was for my wedding; it was so very great! If all goes well my brother (Paco) will get into a master program this year. Our prayers and good wishes are with him and his wife.
I have to confess, I decided to take care of our "relocating affairs" after my sister's Commencement Ceremony (which by the way will take place for the first time in the history of LDS Business College in the Tabernacle at Temple Square, isn't it cool or what!) by then I'll be through with school and staying home all day focusing my energy in 1) feeding Max properly, 2) going through stuff, 3) packing, 4) blogging and 5)enjoying my parent's visit, yay!
In other matters, this week I had the coolest experiences riding the bus to Tooele, and in the check out at WalMart. In the bus someone was swearing and the bus driver said "no swearing in the bus" it was amazing! and then on WalMart I had a nice lady checking me out she helped me with my big blue bag (IKEA bag) and she matched prices of some of the items I had, and ALLwith a great smile. There is goodness all around, what you think?

general conference
General conference is one of my favorite times of the year. This year we celebrate 75ht anniversary of the Church's Welfare Program. After hearing the messages from our leaders there is no doubt that God knows our needs and there is no doubt that He knows that is through service that we learn and do His work.

back to normal, I guess
| tumble weeds in the side of the road! |
First Max took me for a walk couple evenings, besides feeling as a pet, I truly enjoyed it; the fresh air, stepped hills, and my heart beating faster, it is wonderful to be alive!
Max went for a Hike on Settlement Canyon, He loved it although he was sored for three days!
We had a fire on Friday Night and we took my Max's dad's 4-wheeler to the the desert! A completely different Exploring-Experience.
We rested on Sunday, the Lord's day!
Here some photographs from Saturday!

Spring is here.
Spring has officially started officially! wooho!
During the last couple of days Max and I have been doing some fun things.
Last Friday we had a little picnic the both of us with a fire at settlement canyon, it was very fun!
On Saturday we hiked one of the hills behind our home, I personally needed fresh air and exercise, it was great!
Sunday, we stayed home and later in the evening we drove around town.Monday, we both came to Salt Lake to school and work.
Yesterday, we hiked another hill and cooked some curried chicken. Delicious!
Max is running everyday, last week he did very well! He went running 4 days!
This current week is his Spring brake and I know he is having a good time!

Dear posterity,
Last Monday Dad and I, had our interview at the immigration office; we have good news, I am now a permanent resident of the United States. Aunty Kim P. exclaimed in her facebook post "freedom" which it is very true. Hopefully we will visit to Abuelo Checho y Abuelita during this year if all goes well!
Lately, I have been thinking about what are the things that you should know, what character traits I should encourage and how you all would look like!
In other matters, I decided that "determination" is very crucial for one's happiness and I've been lacking it. So this week that starts I have resolved to be more determined and act immediately upon the things I know and the impressions of the Spirit.
Love you all.
Atte. su Mamá.

spring brake is near...
For today's blog entry I've been thinking in writing about Max's renewed determination to excercise every day and his plans for the upcoming spring brake. The itineray so far is to camp and climb Deseret Peak and he has already got his boots, crampons and axe for such enterprise.

I have no doubt that the show about the Mount Everst we have been watching has inspired him. As far as I am concern I've been thinking in the food; I haven't come up with any idea besides a big ration of sandwiches and water.
We'll see how it goes!Tuesday, March 8, 2011
