cumple, bronquitis, Navidad...y una alergia!!! / b-day, broquitis, Christmas and ...an allergy !!!

Oh no!

______________

Nathan is 1 year old. unbelievable. Although I want him to stay little forever, I'm enjoying his growth and quick learning.
On his b-day we have some friends and neighbors joining us for cake and ice cream. We all had fun and got better acquainted to each other. During that week Nathan got a fever accompanied by a cough, since we did not see any improvement in his health we went to see the doctor on Christmas eve, as a mom I felt relief when the doctor said that the worst part had passed and that Nathan just needed an antibiotic and another medicine to loose his chest congestion. Well that was how I felt in the immediate moment, however the next days were a "battle" to get Nathan to ingest those medicines; luckily, Max is more patient and playful in handling these situations.

CHRISTmas, arrived. the night before we had our Family home evening and we watched a video about Christmas and read the Bible on Luke chapter 2. Everything is possible!
Tired, sick but with a great smile, we got up and open our presents, Nathan was oblivious but excited at the sight of toys.

Few days latter, while bathing Nathan I noticed a rash on Nathan's back. Called the nurse and they told me to get hydrocortizone, I waited to do that and the rash expanded, Oh no!
Nathan was all red. I narrowed the culprits to the baby bubble-bath soap, the new detergent, and peanut butter. He got better with the cream

La semana pasada!/Last week!

Last week we went to the Washington D.C. Temple, although we drove for 3.5 hours to get there, we enjoyed our trip. Max and I took turns to take care of Nathan, he is such a good little man. After our visit we drove by the city, kind of; we saw the white house, the capitol and other buildings in downtown. The city looked so pretty to me, like in the movies.

Un mes nuevo!/A new month!

There is nothing better than a new beginning  new budget, new coupons, new calaveras (calaveras are rhymes about people sorting death jokily)y many thinks to be grateful  about!
My Dad has the family tradition of composing calaveras for every member in his family, this year Nathan might get on!This is the calavera that my dad wrote for us on 2010, last year it was a family calavera so I won't post it this time.

September was very eventful. We were invited to dinner two times and in both ocassions food and company were excellent!
The missionaries eat with us once!
We cooked a meal for the Hoffman family who are expecting their 9th and 10th children (they are twin sisters, that is why sister Hoffman had to be in bed rest.)
My calling, I love my calling and the things I'm learning (like humility) by serving next to Brother Haggerty, who is blind and plays the organ for us.
Nathan is the joy of my days, seeing him discover the world fills my heart with hope for a better world and to do my best.
Max is working and in the search for new adventures. As the head of our home he wants the best for all of us, so he's been looking for new possible path in his work and career in the future.

Mi hermoso Agosto! / My beautiful August!

Summer is almost over. Max started school this week, Nathan's got two teeth and stands against the wall, I guess he'll be giving his first steps soon. This monthh has been great; we celebrate my birthday and wedding anniversary, we watched the Olympics' aperture ceremony, I was called to lead the music in sacrament meeting, we had dinner at the Haggerty's, we went to our ward picnic, we were at three "Little league" games at South Williamsport, (and two friends from Max's work came along once), we hiked to Jacoby Falls, I canned salsa and raspberry-peach marmalade, I visited teach my sisters and I was visited by my visiting teachers.
Nathan has two teeth now and loves to play with his dad. Today they were spinning some discs, it caught my attention how focused and patient Nathan is to take turns to play.
Max has been drafting a stroller and learning a new modeling software.
And the breaking news: Andrew and Ramona are having a baby on May 2013, Congrats!

In this month we have been all over the place. To start we celebrate Independence day (4th of July) with the traditional fireworks in town. Two weeks later we flew to Dallas, TX for Andrew's wedding. Our flight got delay so we left home the next morning, however we stop in one of the overlooks in our way back home.
Everyone was at the wedding, (David, Eugene, Kimberly, Max, y Keith) it was a great day.

Arandanos!/Blueberries!

Our family activity of the week!

Last Saturday we went to pick blueberries to Ralph Styer farm, We picked 8 pounds. Nathan was very excited! On Sunday after Church Max helped me to make blueberry jam.The recipe this time was easier and it took us about an hour to make 9 half pints of jam. Max is planning in making blueberry pie and he ahs already frozen some berries to make smoothies.

And the eventful days go on. This time for Nathan and his cousin Joseph’s baby blessing. My sister and Max’s parents came all the way from Salt Lake to be part of it. So on Sunday March 11th, 2012 we had Nathan’s blessed at our chapel and Joseph at his parent’s home. It is amazing to see how families are the place for kids to be born and loved the most. Children are a blessing, no doubt about it.

Fotos familiares/Family pictures

Max and I went to downtown Grapevine, TX. at the end of September to take some family pictures.
It was funny to see people's facial expressions towards our automated picture session (we used a remote to take the pictures ourselves.)
I used  http://pixlr.com/o-matic/ to edit the picture! cool, isn't?!

Eventful days Part 3!

Well I want to continue with these roller-coaster of emotions and events called "LIFE."I found I was pregnant (how exciting!) on Tuesday April the 19. I told Max, of course he is has to be involved) and then I told my mom and sister! The Sunday before my parents' flight back home, Max's mom invited all the "Familia Peralta Servin" to have dinner, and there it was that we announced the surprise. My DAD wasn't sure that what he understood was right! Poor dad he seemed confused but happy! It was great, everyone was happy and excited for us! Later I learned my two sisters in law (Loan and Kimberly) were expecting  babies as well. After Dad, Mom and Rodrick (he is spelling his name that way lately) left I found myself with a cold and long days of packing and giving some stuff away to friends, my brother and sister. It was unbelievable to me how much stuff we had although it felt and looked like nothing!Max finished school, so on may 5th we packed "hasta el tope" our car and started our 3 day trip to Texas.

Eventful days! part 2

Max and I planned a picnic in the desert we had hot-dogs and mountain-man-breakfast. Everyone were impressed with Max's camping skills.

After having our picnic we venture to drive on the pony-express trail. We stopped on the first (maybe only rest area in the road) I think we were all tired but mostly dehydrated! It was fun!

Later, on the weekend we had our family pictures taken. My dear sister got a super deal for a family photo session on-line.

After the pictures we had to wait for my Brother to get off work and have dinner; in the meantime the rest of us went to Little Cotton Wood Canyon. Rodrigo wanted to check out the snow that was left and with some luck see some mountain goats. And we did see them!

Our first snowman ever! How exciting!

back to normal, I guess

tumble weeds in the side of the road!
Spring brake is over and we (Max and I)did a couple interesting things during that time.
First Max took me for a walk couple evenings, besides feeling as a pet, I truly enjoyed it; the fresh air, stepped hills, and my heart beating faster, it is wonderful to be alive!
Max went for a Hike on Settlement Canyon, He loved it although he was sored for three days!
We had a fire on Friday Night and we took my Max's dad's 4-wheeler to the the desert! A completely different Exploring-Experience.
We rested on Sunday, the Lord's day!
Here some photographs from Saturday!

Myself.
Max testing the camera!
