Our flight got delay so we left home the next morning, however we stop in one of the overlooks in our way back home.

For This Year

Before "Max & Liliana" I wrote " for this year" and here are the post for 2010...a wonderful year.

check the 2009-2010 posts on the blog archive!

For this year

I felt inspired by the "Julie&Julia" movie to write a blog, but also to pursuit something this coming year 2010. Life is excitement, learning, adventure. Why not to explore it a little more in detail? Mainly I want this blog to be positive, fun and uplifting.

Our Family Home Evening this week had two purposes. The first was to get supplies for our family first aid kit and secondly our short lesson. I’d like to talk about the lesson. At home we have the Family Home Evening resource manual which has helped us to understand principles to build a strong family. The lesson this time was about reasoning with children, something that generally sounds ridiculous but it is the right way to teach children to obey and judge correctly.
The lesson compares the models of reasoning, and command and demand.Max said something very true at end of the lesson “by doing it this way one is teaching and respecting children’s agency; in the church we are taught to study the scripture, live the counsel of the prophets and to pray for revelation and understanding; not just to obey blindly.”

Arandanos!/Blueberries!

Our family activity of the week!

Last Saturday we went to pick blueberries to Ralph Styer farm, We picked 8 pounds. Nathan was very excited! On Sunday after Church Max helped me to make blueberry jam.The recipe this time was easier and it took us about an hour to make 9 half pints of jam. Max is planning in making blueberry pie and he ahs already frozen some berries to make smoothies.

Deseenme suerte!

Lately I have a great interest in home making and I've decided to do something about it. One thing my mom did and I didn't learn well to do was canning. So, I bought a magazine full of recipes, some jars, pectin, and 2lbs of strawberries and thus I start my summer project #1.
This project is due on Friday. wish me luck!

3 forasteros explorando! /3 outsiders exploring!

We have visited and explored some places in Pennsylvania. Last weekend we went to check out some boulders in Rock Run, PA. We enjoyed the day with a temperature of 76 F. The water in the little river was icy cold, ask Nathan, who immersed his little feet, how cold it was.

dentista
